Hair Restoration

According to statistics, 55% of women and 85% of men will experience hair loss during their lifetime. The most common type is when the hair begins to thin out on the top part of the head, but hair loss can affect any other areas of the head as well.

This may make some people self conscious. For people who would like an alternative to invasive procedures like implants, the hair restoration treatment from SKIN MD can be a great solution!

Hair Restoration in Dearborn

Our Hair Restoration procedure requires a blood draw which is then placed in a centrifuge that separates the platelets from the blood. The platelets are then injected into the scalp where, over time, they start to stimulate hair growth.

This hair restoration procedure takes several treatments to be effective and it only works in areas where there are still hair follicles. The amount of treatments needed will be discussed when you visit SKIN MD for a hair restoration consult where a custom treatment plan will be made for you.

You’ll be able to enjoy your beautiful new hair for up to 18-24 months, but with regular touch-up treatments, you can show off your full head of luscious hair for as long as you like! Get in touch with us in Dearborn, Michigan, today.

Faqs

  • How Long Will Results Last?

While each patient may experience different lengths of time in which the results last. On average, after the final treatment the results typically last years.  Maintenance treatments may be recommended.

  • Is There Any Downtime?

While there is no downtime with the PRF treatment at SKIN MD, it’s best to avoid excessive sweating and to avoid products in your hair for at least 24-48 hours. Your practitioner will review your treatment outcome and provide you with a detailed aftercare plan.

  • How Exactly Do My Platelets Restore My Hair?

Great question! After your blood has gone through the centrifuge and platelets have been separated, SKIN MD is able to then use your own  platelets and growth factors to regenerate and stimulate hair follicles and growth. Some of these growth factors will act to increase blood supply to the hair follicles which will supply the nutrients needed for growth. Since we are utilizing blood and platelets that are from your own body, it makes it unlikely to have an adverse reaction to it.
