BBL laser Treatment

Available at our Northville Location

BBL, short for BroadBand Light Therapy, is a skin rejuvenation technique that reverses most of your skin damage and signs of aging. The BBL device delivers light energy to heat the uppermost layers of the skin. The heat from the BBL device seeps deep into your skin’s underlying tissues, encouraging your body to produce more collagen. Over time, as your body produces more collagen, your skin tissues tighten and grow firmer, reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and skin laxity.

The light energy from the BBL device can also be directed towards the abnormal vascular lesions and spider veins on your skin’s surface.

The thermal energy collapses the vein walls, reducing the excessive redness from the prominent blood vessels. BBL therapy also regulates melanin production to treat hyperpigmentation. The BBL device comes with unique cooling tips that allow your skin to absorb intense light energy without causing pain and discomfort. You should get two to four BBL therapies per year for optimal results.

Faqs

  • How many BBL treatments will I need, and how often?

A non-ablative laser is able to target and resurface the skin without physical injury to the skin. An even distribution of thermal energy is placed onto the dermis of the skin, but spares the outermost layer of the skin

  • Is there any downtime after a BBL treatment?

The Helix system’s dual-wavelength versatility allows our practitioners at SkinMD Michigan to customize settings for various skin tones, though a consultation is required to ensure the safest parameters for deeper pigments.

  • Does BBL therapy hurt?

BBL is a comfortable, nonsurgical treatment. The device is equipped with cooling tips that let your skin absorb the intense light energy while minimizing pain and discomfort. Most people feel only mild sensations during the session, and afterward the skin may feel a bit like a mild sunburn for a few days.
